Overview

I joined ITB in January 2016, drawn by the role of trainee accountant and the possibility of working in an educational environment where students can learn, achieve and succeed.  I work in Finance while studying part-time to become an accountant. My role is very varied ranging from fixed assets, credit control, and banking to systems administration/security, tax returns and budgets. If you are a staff member, these are all areas that I am happy to assist with.

Biography

I have spent a significant part of my career in finance. In the early stages, I worked in advertising in a role that combined finance and public relations and I particularly enjoyed the people-facing aspect of the role.  I also worked in Xerox for a number of years, where I was part of a large set-up team that established a financial shared-services centre in Dublin. On that team, the implementation of systems/processes for fixed assets as well as the migration of data from the UK site were my key responsibilities.

Immediately before joining ITB, I spent seven years working the area of disability, 2 years with the Daughters of Charity helping young adults develop essential life skills and 5 years helping young children reach their full potential in a secondary school setting. Working in disability was a real joy for me and I absolutely loved it.
